Teachers’ Day 2026

With National Teachers’ Day in India approaching on Saturday, September 5th, campuses across the Standard English School (SES) network got an early start on honoring our dedicated educators. Because the official day falls on a weekend, festivities kicked off early across our regions, filling our schools with warmth, music, and deep gratitude.

Reports flowing in from Sakawrdai, Senvon, Dapchhuah, and Saipung—along with celebrations across Zairawn—highlight a shared spirit of joy and appreciation that spans our entire school family across state borders.

Highlights Across Our Campuses

Student Leadership & Heartfelt Gratitude (Senvon & Sakawrdai): Demonstrating the confidence and maturity instilled by their teachers, students took active roles in anchoring and organizing the festivities. At SES Senvon, the student body took full charge of planning the event under minimal guidance, raising their own funds to present meaningful gifts to every teacher. In Sakawrdai, student emcees David Laldampui and Lalṭhazovi (Class V) hosted the program seamlessly at the Sakawrdai Community Hall.
Vibrant Cultural & Creative Talent (Dapchhuah, Sakawrdai, & Senvon): Classrooms and community halls came alive with vibrant artistic showcases. At Dapchhuah, young learners from Nursery and KG performed charming action songs, while primary students presented group songs as part of a joint Dapchhuah Teacher’s Union (DTU) event. In Sakawrdai and Senvon, audiences enjoyed a rich assortment of performances, including choreography, traditional cultural dances, play acting, dramas, and poetry recitations.
Dedicated Spirit & Success (Saipung): Joining in the celebrations, SES Saipung hosted a wonderful program marked by the dedicated spirit of the teaching staff and the joyful, earnest participation of the students. The school expressed heartfelt praise and thanksgiving to God for a smooth, memorable, and highly successful day of honoring their teachers.
Community & Spiritual Blessings: The celebrations brought together parents, church leaders, and local dignitaries. In Sakawrdai, Chief Guest R. Lalfakzuala (Chairman, Sinlung Hills Council) joined the gathering alongside local church leaders. Pastoral blessings and encouraging words were offered across campuses by guests including Rev. Joseph L. Khawbung, Pastor James L. Darngawn, Upa Zothanghlun, PS Rev. Mesakthang, and Madame Mawi Hrangul.

A Taught Heart, A Grateful Spirit

Teaching is a noble calling that demands immense devotion and patience. Seeing the pure affection, high regard, and heartfelt appreciation displayed by our students across all campuses makes every effort worthwhile.

The Education Board, ICI extends its warmest gratitude to all Headmasters, Headmistresses, teachers, support personnel, parents, and local leaders who made Teachers’ Day 2026 such a resounding success.
