Introduction

The Education Department of the Independent Church of India (ICI) oversees and supports the educational institutions established by the Church to serve communities through quality education and Christian values.

Through its network of Standard English Schools, the department seeks to provide education that nurtures the intellectual, moral, and spiritual development of students. The schools aim to create an environment where young minds can grow in knowledge, discipline, and character while being guided by the principles of faith.

The Education Department works in cooperation with the Church leadership, the Education Board, school Managing Committees, and dedicated teachers to ensure that every school functions effectively and fulfills its mission.

Meaning of Education

The word education comes from the Latin word educere, which means “to bring out” or “to lead forth.” In this sense, education is the process of drawing out the potential within each individual and guiding them toward maturity, responsibility, and purposeful living.

The Education Department of ICI believes that true education goes beyond academic learning. It involves the formation of character, discipline, moral values, and spiritual awareness that prepare students to serve society with integrity and compassion.

All schools under the Education Department bear the name Standard English School, followed by the name of the location.

Each school is administered by a School Managing Committee, with the Headmaster or Headmistress serving as the chief administrator of the institution.
