Standard English School, Dapchhuah, Mamit District, celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June 2026 with a spirited programme that brought together students and teachers in a shared commitment to environmental stewardship.
The event, held on the school campus, opened with a prayer and a welcome address that set the tone for the day, drawing attention to the significance of the occasion and the urgent need for environmental conservation.
The school was honoured to receive Ms. Lalengzami, a Health Worker, as its special guest. In an engaging and encouraging address, she spoke on the vital connection between a clean environment and good health, urging students to cultivate responsible habits and take an active role in protecting their surroundings.
The highlight of the day was a tree plantation drive and campus cleaning activity, in which students participated with great energy and enthusiasm. Ms. Lalengzami generously donated several saplings, which were planted across the school campus — a living reminder of the day’s message. She also arranged refreshments for all students and teachers, adding warmth and festivity to the occasion.
The programme closed with a vote of thanks, with the school community expressing heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Lalengzami for her inspiring presence and generous contributions.
