In honor of Gandhi Jayanti, Standard English School (SES) Senvawn organized a major Cleanliness Drive across the village today, emphasizing civic responsibility and environmental hygiene among students.
The initiative began early at 5:30 AM, with students, teachers, and staff assembling before dispersing across various vengbuk (localities) in Senvawn. Equipped with cleaning tools, teams spent the morning clearing litter, sweeping streets, and sprucing up public spaces throughout the area.
Beyond the physical cleanup, school leaders used the occasion to reinforce vital life lessons. Addresssing the students, organizers highlighted the importance of active civic duty, reminding them that keeping surroundings clean is a direct way every individual can contribute to society.
Students were also encouraged to take these lessons home and serve as hygiene ambassadors by educating their parents and neighbors about maintaining clean, healthy living environments.
The event concluded with a renewed pledge from both students and staff to make cleanliness a continuous daily practice rather than a one-day event.
